Exciting Coaching & Player Announcements for 2025

As we prepare for the 2025 season, the Casterton Sandford Football Netball Club is proud to announce an impressive line-up of coaches and some exciting player signings and re-signings. With a combination of experienced leaders and passionate up-and-coming talent, the club is in great hands for the future.


Football Coaching Announcements

Under 12 Football

We are pleased to announce that Jason Harvey will be leading our Under 12s in 2025, with Luke Naylor as assistant coach. Jason is a dedicated club member who is passionate about developing our youngest footballers, focusing on skill fundamentals, teamwork, and instilling a love for the game. Luke, an experienced mentor, will provide additional guidance to ensure our young players develop both on and off the field.


Under 14.5 Football

We are thrilled to have Kai Schembri take on the Under 14.5 coaching role, supported by Zack Cleary and Phil Sidoti as assistant coaches. Kai is a well-respected player and coach who is dedicated to developing the next generation of Cats. With Zack and Phil by his side, this coaching team will provide invaluable football knowledge, skill development, and mentorship to help our players grow in confidence and ability.


Under 17.5 Football

CSFNC is excited to welcome Nick Schembri as Under 17.5 coach for the 2025 season. A passionate senior player, Nick has served as an assistant coach for the past few years and now steps up to lead the team. He is committed to helping our juniors transition into senior football and understands the dedication and work ethic required to succeed at the next level. Gabe Parsons, another highly respected senior player, joins as assistant coach. Gabe’s strong work ethic and leadership qualities will be a great asset in developing our young players.


Reserves Coaching

The club is excited to announce Mason Hunter as Reserves coach for 2025. Mason started his football journey with West Gambier before establishing himself as a key player at CSFNC. His leadership qualities, experience, and ability to connect with players make him the perfect choice to guide our Reserves squad. Supporting him as assistant coach will be Matt "Pablo" Mutch, a well-respected clubman with a deep understanding of the game.


Senior Game Day Coach

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome back Max Rooke, two-time AFL premiership player with Geelong, as our senior game day coach for 2025. Max will work closely with Jarrod O’Brien, bringing his wealth of experience, football intelligence, and leadership to the team. Beyond game day coaching, Max will play a mentoring role across the entire football and netball programs, providing valuable insights to both senior and junior players. Having a club legend like Max back in our coaching team is a huge boost for the Cats.


Player Signings & Re-signings

  • Colby Munro – CSFNC is delighted to welcome Colby as both an assistant senior coach and player for the upcoming season. The son of former Cats coach and league medallist Justin Munro, Colby brings a wealth of football knowledge, versatility and leadership to the team. His addition strengthens our coaching group and on-field performance.

  • Michael Krieger – A massive signing for the Cats, Michael Krieger returns for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. Krieger was runner-up in the 2023 WBFL Best & Fairest and winner of CSFNC’s Best & Fairest. His ability to dominate in the midfield and create scoring opportunities up forward makes him a game-changer for the team.

  • Cal Currie – A true clubman and homegrown talent, Cal has recommitted to the Cats for 2025. His on-field presence, leadership qualities and ability to impact games in crucial moments will once again be invaluable.

  • Sam Tooley – A strong and experienced recruit, Sam brings leadership and toughness to our squad. A premiership player with Coleraine in 2023 and runner-up in their 2024 Best & Fairest, Sam has also played with Keith in the KNTFL. His experience and footy smarts will add plenty of depth to our team.

  • Jack Thompson – Jack returns to CSFNC after playing a full season with us in 2023. Known for his athleticism, strong leadership and tenacity on the field, Jack’s presence will be key in helping the club push for success in 2025.


Netball Coaching Announcements

Under 11s – Sharna Fidler returns to lead our youngest netballers, continuing the fantastic work she started this year. Sharna has a strong focus on fundamental skill development, ensuring our juniors build confidence, teamwork, and a love for the game.

13 & Under A – Nicola Smith will take the reins for the 13 & Under A side. Nicola brings plenty of passion and knowledge to the role, and we are excited to see her develop our young netballers.

15 & Under – We are thrilled to welcome Holly Smith & Chloe Finnigan as joint coaches for the 15 & Under team. Both Holly and Chloe are excited to bring fresh ideas, a focus on skill development, and a fun and engaging approach to their coaching.

17 & Under – Emma Grigg will step into the role of 17 & Under coach for 2025. Emma is a knowledgeable and enthusiastic coach who will provide excellent leadership for our up-and-coming netballers.

C Grade – Val Harvey takes on the role of C Grade coach, supported by Kerri Harvey as assistant coach. Both bring a wealth of experience and a strong passion for the game, ensuring the team is well-prepared for the season.

B Grade – Emily Osborne returns in a senior coaching role after previously guiding our U13s in 2023. Emily’s tactical understanding and ability to develop players make her a great addition to our coaching team.

A Reserve – Haylee Rhook will take on the A Reserve coaching position, bringing years of experience and dedication to the role. Her leadership and commitment will be invaluable to the team.

A Grade – A huge congratulations to Madalene Cleary, our 2025 A Grade coach. Madalene has been a standout leader both on and off the court for many years, and we are excited to see her guide our netball club into an exciting new chapter.


Junior Netball Skill Development – Natalie Rhook joins as the 2025 Junior Skill Development Coach. She will work with all junior teams at training and on game days, assisting coaches with skill development and game strategies. Natalie’s experience will be an incredible asset for our young players.


The 2025 season is shaping up to be an exciting one for the Cats. Let’s get behind our teams and coaches as we build towards another successful year!
